How much RAM does a modded Minecraft server actually need?
Depends on the pack. Vanilla needs 2–4 GB. A mid-weight Forge pack (RLCraft, SkyFactory) needs 8 GB. Heavy tech packs (ATM9, ATM10) need 12–16 GB minimum and will use more if you give it.
We allocate physical DDR4 — you get what you're quoted, not a virtual share of it.
Can I run any GMod gamemode including custom LUA?
Yes. DarkRP, TTT, Prop Hunt, Murder, Sandbox, custom gamemodes — whatever you want. Custom LUA, workshop addons, custom content. It's your server.
Can I install my own modpacks including ones not on CurseForge?
Yes. Forge, Fabric, NeoForge, private modpacks, custom builds. You have full access to the server files. We don't restrict what software runs on an allocation you're paying for.
Why does mod loading lag on shared hosting?
Mod loading is I/O-intensive — hundreds of files being read at startup. On a shared VPS those reads go through a network-attached storage layer or a hypervisor I/O queue competing with other tenants. On bare metal with NVMe SSD, reads are direct. Server startup times drop dramatically.
